Lagarto and wireless arduinos

This post talks about Lagarto, an open automation platform developed for panStamps, running on the Raspberry PI under Debian Wheezy:

For this application, the Raspberry PI acts as an embedded controller (with embedded web server) cntrolling and reading a wireless network of low-power motes, sensing temperatures, humidities and binarry presses and controlling relays, dimmers and RGB LED strips.

We finally got to solve the issues about incompatibility of the image for different hardware versions of the RPi. Raspbian was the solution and we have even kept the original size of the image (~2GB) whilst adding all the necessary resources to run Lagarto and OpenRemote on the board.

Of course, we still need a panStick USB dongle to connect to the wireless network of panStamps but we'll soon announce the release of a new panStamp shield for the RaspberryPI.
