Raspbian without camera software?

Mon Apr 13, 2015 1:38 pm

Hi,

I have installed the latest Raspbian OS (version 3.18.74) by the NOOBS route.
I enabled the camera during set-up.
I did apt-get update & upgrade (and not rpi-update as this seems to be discouraged).
When starting the Desktop I see less sw installed than with the previous version (eg no Midori ....)

1) How can I install Midori to this version of Raspbian?

2) Where is the Cameratest folder and RaspiStill and RaspiVid?
This is all explaned on Element14 website (http://www.element14.com/community/vide ... era-hi-res) but seems useless nowadays. Too old video from E14?

I would like to play with the camera (I have the E14 Camera Board Rev 1.3) without digging too deep in Python scripts.
Is that possible with a standard Raspbian tool ?

Thank you.

Type raspistill on the command line - should be installed by default.

Although it appears less stuff is installed, its is all there, but just not on the desktop. Try using the menus.
