I have a rpi camera connected to a model B using mmal-motion. I've followed this guide:

But I havent bothered with the motion detect settings for the moment.
When I connect to the camera stream in VLC I get a picture for about a second, and then it goes blank. I get similar behaviour if I open an html page with the camera stream embedded.
I'm a bit new to all this stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
