Synaptic Package Manager

Sat Mar 28, 2015 10:53 am

I installed the Synaptic Package Manager which runs OK from the terminal. When I try and run it from the desktop it comes up with:
Identity: pi
Password: blank (not the word blank but a blank space :) )

I didn't put a password in when I downloaded it so why is it asking for one but not when I run it from the terminal?

Probably the screwy way they configure sudo to work without a password, and they didn't check out it doesn't break other software.

Stick with apt-get....
