I stumbled upon this ubuntu mate community build for pi2,thought i'd share with you, it seems pretty stable and useful, specially for ubuntu fan-boys.

I find it excellent too. It handles as well as its Linux version. The only problem I am aware of is its lack of screen resolution adjustment; only the highest resolution applies, which is too small for my old eyes, although this applies to all Raspberry Pi OS:s I have tried except RISC OS and openELEC. Time to include it under "other os" in the forum?

Resolution can be set in config.txt
framebuffer_width=1920
framebuffer_height=1080

I've been using this a little bit today. It's a very solid OS. Thanks for the link, OP. Kudos to the developers who made it possible. Next, I'll see how the Anholt kernel works with it.

The Anholt kernel works fairly well with it. The only real issue I'm having is that my mouse cursor is invisible. On Raspbian, the fairly simple remedy for that was to run an application by semi-blindly clicking on a menu item or launcher icon. After that, the mouse cursor would appear. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work using MATE. Oh well.

Sounds good. U compiled anholt kernel. U used opengl desktop. Is it true ? Can u explain a little.
