Talk Talk and the Pi

Mon Mar 23, 2015 10:07 am

Hello

Since moving I am unable to get my Pi to connect to my new broadband, from googling I see this is a common problem with TalkTalk. Does anyone know to get the Pi to connect to the internet?

Many thanks

Simple answer. Switch to http://Plus.net. They give you a Technicolor modem/router/switch/WiFi that just works.

My ISP is TalkTalk and have had zero issues connecting, originally HG523a Router and now with a HG635 since upgrading to SuperFast ;)

I am another of those with TalkTalk as my broadband provider. I have never had any difficulty getting an RPi to connect to the Internet. I just connect the rj45 port on the RPi to the router with a 'cat5' utp cable and power up the RPi. Everything else happens 'automagically.'

It's one of the things that was built into IP networking from the outset: the ISP does not need to know or care what hardware is being connected to the home network, and the RPi does not need to know or care who the broadband internet provider is.
