Need to reinstall, how to format sd?

When I finally got the Raspberry on the right track - I got a weird unable to sync partition error. I think I did not shut down properly and the sd card got corrupt.

Anyhow, does anyone know if I need to format the sd car before rewriting the image?

Hi Jerry

If you have a windows pc handy, do a search for 'HP USB format tool'. I use that to reformat pendrives and sd-cards. Under win7 it may say you need admin rights, just right click and 'run as administrator'.

If you are using DD to put a new image on the SD Card, you don't need to format. DD will format For you. Then when you resize the partitons that will effectively format the entire card.
