Problems With USB Output To DAC

Fri Mar 06, 2015 8:35 am

Hi folks,

For the last few days I've been trying to set up an audio streamer based on a Raspberry Pi Mk 2. I've gotten so far as to install the Max2Play Squeezelite server & on another micro SD card a Volumio player, but I'm coming up against the same problem. I've got a DAC with asynchronous USB input (a Naim V1 DAC), and I can get both types of player to recognise this DAC, but the sound is horribly distorted, whether playing from attached HDD or from internet radio.

Is the Pi capable of outputting in this way, or do I need another bit of kit? All help and advice gratefully received but please go gently, I'm new to this.

Hi Rattus, here's a link to the DAC - https://www.naimaudio.com/product/dac-v1

Sorry, not sure what the rest of your post means.
