Where can I buy the Pi2 from that actually isn't incompetent

Wed Mar 04, 2015 6:23 pm

Sorry I'm just really annoyed

I preordered my PI 2 from Element 14 / Farnell And was told delivery on the 23rd of Feb. Its now 4th of march and still nothing, I've been complaining daily in responce to the the .PDF reciept proof of purchase.

Guess what todats reply was sorry sir what was the invoice number lol

So I copy and paste the attached reciept they sent part of both of our conversations..... well over 9 days and utter incompetence, all they do is ask for my invoice number or name or postcode over and over again in the same email.

I've been ripped off.

So I try to buy from RS instead - click the link to RS here and get this "error sorry this RS page is missing". :x

I was planning on order over 100 PI's for my shop. I came here hoping to speak to or deal with the managers / owners of the PI gactory in Wales because these "mega corporations" can't even get a single order togather sop how can I trust them to supply my business?

I'm extremely disappointed and have lost hundreds of customers for the PI projects I had orders for. can I contact the Pi factory myself - I'll drive there and buy the units cash. In business time is money - I've ;lost a load thanks to Farnell and I'm not happy. I havn't even recieved my original unit test order from them!

If anyone doubts I'll screen shot all the emails as prrof. Can I speak to the PI manufacturing team please? I want to order bulk.

RS and Farnell are the licenced manufacturers, they contract Sony in Wales to do the manufacture. So you will need to talk to RS or Farnell for large bulk purchases. 100 or so you may be able to get from a third party supplier.

Please note that the demand for Pi2 has been extremely high, and manufacturing is running at full tilt (20k per day in the UK, more made in China) trying to keep up with demand, which is why there is a bit of a lead time. You cannot buy direct from the factory, they manufacture for RS or Farnell who then distribute.

What I am a bit confused about is how you have gained hundreds of orders and lost hundreds of orders in the 4 weeks since the Pi2 was released. Or how this has lost you a load of money. Lead time for the Pi2 has always been long since release, so promising sales on something you were not able to get hold of seems a bit odd.

I've had good results with MCM, though I've not made bulk orders. You might try them, though.

My most recent order from them was put in on 2/24. They estimated the shipping date would be 3/11. It actually shipped on 3/3.

I got mine from MCM. They told me it was on backorder until September, and then my Pi2 showed up in the mailbox a week later. :D
