Connecting a SNES controller to the GPIOs

Wed Jul 04, 2012 6:29 am

Hi,

I just reached a milestone in a small project of mine in which I connect a SNES controller to the RPi and use it as virtual keyboard. In my blog post I give details about the used hardware, the implementation, and also show a demo video. You can find it at http://petrockblog.wordpress.com/2012/0 ... pberry-pi/

Nice work!

What you might want to change is instead of making a virtual keyboard, you make it into a full userspace gamepad driver. Something like xboxdrv. Would require less configuration to work with mo programs.

Thank you for your suggestion - I will try to implement the gamepad functionality! It seems to me that this won't not need many changes in the code.
