Raspberry Pi 2 boot camp

Mon Feb 16, 2015 5:39 pm

Hi Guys!

I have this problem, I am having a boot camp on Raspberry Pi 2 next Saturday, *but* the process of installing openSUSE ARM might jeopardize all efforts. I see that Debian, Feudora, openelec, Ubuntu, xbmc Risc OS have a simple installation... Give me some thoughts please...

I'm not a suse user but I expect you wilif you take a working pi1 image and replace the kernel and firmware with pi2 ones things should work ok.

Not that simple. The Rpi was ARM6, the Rpi2 is ARM7. Now, firmware is available in a repo, openSUSE does have ARM7 repos, quite some images, just not for the Rpi2. For me building images from scratch is a place where I've never been.

Oh. Well, thanks for the input. Guess I'll just cross my fingers and hope that someone puts together an openSUSE version one day.

Why not start with the Pi2 version from https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:Raspberry_Pi2
