Raspberry PI Zero back in stock @ PiHut (thepihut.com)

Fri Apr 29, 2016 3:38 pm

Just saw this on Twitter... so if you are after a PI Zero get them now.

What can you build with a bunch of PI Zeros? A Docker Swarm:

Heh, I figured something was up when my regular look at http://whereismypizero.com/ got stuck on a combination of "No Info Found" and "Checking".

It would have to be the new Pi Zeros.

According to Pi Hut's Twitter, they're not the new versions with the mysterious new feature.

Which makes me wonder where they came from. As they mention it's only a small number, I'm guessing it's just something like a single carton of 'em that went astray between production and delivery and finally turned up.

I managed to order one.. didn't realise they weren't the new boards..oh well, I'll probably get another anyway when the new batch are available.

Yup, same here, I just assumed they were the new production units until I went to look at Twitter to see if there was any talk of the new feature. Works just fine for the specific project I want it for, anyway - also it's supposedly not anything major, so I doubt I'm going to be crying myself to sleep over missing out on it ;)

Kind of like the Model A Pis that RS put up recently. (Thanks to which--though it was like pulling teeth--together with the kindness of a Forum poster, I now have some Model A Pis.)

Hi!
Same for me, just bought one from Pi Hut, have been waiting 2 weeks, just realize by reading this thread it's not the new zero. Doesn't matter it's a Pi. My first zero. And it's going to become a collector model :D

I think the ones that came with the MagPi magazine, if they are still in the package and attached to the magazine really will become collectors items.

I was a bit disappointed that they only had the kits with the 8GB cards. I would prefer to order the Zero on its own. I wonder if anyone got a zero on its own or just with the "essentials" kit - I'm registered for email notifications on both, but didn't get an email.
Ah well, I bit the bullet and ordered one of the kits with the 8GB card...

Same for me, no zero alone only with the kit...

I managed to get a straight £4.25 zero about two or three hours after the twitter announcement. They were gone about an hour or so after that. I was also signed up for the notifications and didn't get one either, but I tend to check http://whereismypizero.com a few times a day.

The 8GB kits seem to be still available, if anyone's interested.

I decided to bite the bullet and order the kit. I guess I land up buying an expensive microSD card. Maybe I should frame it

I'd love to know the allocation of pi single units vs kits ...
Android app - Raspi Card Imager - download and image SD cards - No PC required !
