Pi 3 Bluetooth not Pairing...

Hi all,

After following the instructions here:

I'm using the Bluetooth setup assistant from the menu bar, the Pi can see the keyboards I'm trying to pair with (I've tried 3 so far), but I get 'Pairing in Progress' followed by 'Failed to Add Device', using both random and pre-assigned passkeys. All 3 keyboards can be paired with other devices (Macs, iPads, iPhones), so the fault isn't with the devices...

Is there anything else I can try?

I have to guess.
Maybe it's a problem with the keyboard-Layout while entering the pairing key?
I noticed with my own keyboard that the Layout after pairing/connecting was always a British Layout, altough I changed it in the Preferences to a German Layout.
I had to set the Layout in /etc/default/keyboard, the entry there is called XKBLAYOUT.

i am still new to Pi and may not be 100% on this but apparently the Bluetooth software was not 100% completed and still being worked on so there could be some issues with compatibility.

Thanks, but the numbers on a British and German keyboard are in the same place...

It's very frustrating, since wi-fi set up was flawless, and I can't even connect the Bluetooth keyboard with a USB cable.... it will only connect over Bluetooth apparently... :0(

I'll just have to wait...

I had similar issues and followed the instructions here, it took some effort but in the end managed to get a working set up.

Well, I followed the Terminal instructions in Lee's link and after a few failed attempts, it appears to be working, although I don't really know what I did to get it to succeed.
