Recently my wife expressed the desire to be able to spy on our misbehaving dogs while we were out. I made this happen with a web cam, Motion and my Pi.
I now have a new request. To be able to communicate with them though an intercom over the web in addition to the camera.
Is there a project out there someone can point me to that may help me accomplish this?

Do you mean, software that lets you talk to them via internet (I'm sure you can find that), or something you can connect to the Pi to get the sound (I would look for some sort of USB sound card), or a project that addresses the problem of making the dogs pay attention (there, I can't offer any advice).
I think you might need a remote controlled treat dispenser to encourage the dogs to pay attention. Also, I believe dogs really pay attention to peoples faces, so maybe two way video conferencing would help.joshuabcox wrote:Yes, the former.
