Hello!
I am using KODI 15.2 on top of Raspbian Jessie.
I am searching for a guide or a tutorial on how to install TVHEADEND Backend server application.
I searched the officail repository and all I can find is kodi-pvr-hts which is the frontend add-on I suppose.
I have used TVHEADEND in an older version of OPENELEC and it came preinstalled but I think it is not anymore.
So please help me out!

i hate to keep asking questions, as i feel like im pissing people off, but how do i access sources on kodie? it says something about needing a username and password. i suppose you need to pay for some sources? probably finding a way to access those servers is against the rules on this forum.

You want always working sports, if so then pay your cable provider, don't pay pirate apps that offer's you validated credentials after purchase.pontypool wrote:i hate to keep asking questions, as i feel like im pissing people off, but how do i access sources on kodie? it says something about needing a username and password. i suppose you need to pay for some sources? probably finding a way to access those servers is against the rules on this forum.

Hello guys.
I reached this page because I'm having problems running simple IPTV client. When I try to activate TV on my Kodi 15 I get an error that it can't be loaded. I'm using Retropie Wheezy (3.3.1) and even using it new Kodi 15 experimental script (that installs 15.2), the PVR problem continues.
So I decided to get a full working package.
But, even following the uninstall/install procedures on the OP I get these errors when installing:

Re: Kodi 15 Packages for Raspbian Wheezy & Jessie for RPi2
Unfortunately someone published two video tutorials on youtube pointing to my kodi-15-Jessie version with the following titles:
and
This is complete crap, of course, because my packages have been compiled for ARMv7 and will only work on RPi2, as is clearly stated in the title of the OP. And also all additional instructions etc. from the OP are missing.
This will lead to a lot of useless downloads and also to frustration of users of Pi1 and Pi0. And of course the author does not mention that people should avoid multiple downloads.
I'm not responsible for this. My only chance to avoid unneccessary and useless downloads (by people not using an RPi2) is to rename the Jessie package again.
It's unbelievable what kind of "experts" are publishing "tutorials" these days.

Re: Kodi 15 Packages for Raspbian Wheezy & Jessie for RPi2
Hello.
I was able to run 15.1 Wheezy just fine. Thank you!!
But I want the updated version you offer.
I'm unable to run Jessie 15.2.
kodi doesn't auto load after I reboot.
If I attempt to load it manually, by entering "startkodi" I get, "/usr/local/bin/startkodi: line 8: kodi: command not found".
Here is exactly what I am entering, when attempt to install 15.2.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
wget http://steinerdatenbank.de/software/kod ... rpb.tar.gz
tar -xzf kodi-15.2-jessie-rpb.tar.gz
cd kodi-15-jessie
sudo ./install
(Does this code below need to be added for Jessie?
In your post you were unsure.)

Re: Kodi 15 Packages for Raspbian Wheezy & Jessie for RPi2
Do you have Jessie installed?
Did you get any error messages during installation?
Running from rc.local might not work any more because it is run earlier by systemd, but putting a
sleep 10
before the startkodi line might help.

Yes, I confirmed that Raspbian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) was installed after the upgrade.
I received no errors during install.
I'll try the sleep 10 later tonight.

you could also try:

If you get the message, that kodi cannot be found, something went wrong during installation.

Thank you, gkreidl. Following the instructions in the opening post worked like a charm on an up-to-date Raspbian Jessie on my Pi2B.

Pi2B Mini-PC/Media Centre: ARM=1GHz (+3), Core=500MHz, v3d=500MHz, h264=333MHz, RAM=DDR2-1200 (+6/+4/+4+schmoo). Sandisk Ultra HC-I 32GB microSD card on '50=100' OCed slot (42MB/s read) running Raspbian/KODI16, Seagate 3.5" 1.5TB HDD mass storage.
