lcd library to drive 18 rgb data

Sun Dec 27, 2015 11:24 am

Hello,

I need some info about raspberry pi lcd libraries. Are there available libraries to drive(display text, line or black box etc)
raw tft lcd display?
here is documentation: http://www.premier-electric.com/files/S ... q5dr01.pdf
Here is what I done so far with msp430 launchpad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n32yu_pj2bU. I did this just to check if display is working and in case I will need to write my own code. Now I want to connect it to my RPi2. I want to display custom data with this display, like I said just simple text.

And one more question, how is called this type lcd comunication ? rgb parallel or something like that ?

Thanks

That looks like it may be driveable via DPI (Display Parallel Interface).
Have a search on here for DPI, Adafruit Kippah, or VGA666 as they all use the same hardware block.
Other guides to using it are at http://blog.reasonablycorrect.com/raw-dpi-raspberry-pi/ or https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-dpi ... ah-ttl-tft

Thanks for the info

But as I understand if I will use DPI, then lcd screen will be as the main output screen ? Actually I want to make this little screen as second with custom data draw etc. Atm trying to draw some text with msp. And looks like later I will need to port everything on python. Looks easier to me(I am not a linux guy)

Yesterday I moved lcd from msp to raspberry pi2.
this is my progress so far https://youtu.be/BxgXBjOAdfg
Looks like with GPIO library I dont have enough speed. vsync black line is still seen. I will need to try some C libs like Wiring Pi.

Started working with wiringPi and C. Looks promising. :)

All driving code done in C. Now working on resistive touch panel. Hooked msp430 launcpad to RP and transferring coordinates via serial port.
