Forum Menu Problem

Hi,

I am not sure whether or not this is the right place to 'report' this, but I am currently experiencing a problem with one particular Forum Menu Section.

If I go to "Operating system distributions" then "Other" and select the top option "Android" I get a very odd looking screen!

All the other ones seem to work fine, so I don't think it is anything to do with my particular system.

Not that it probably makes any difference but I am using a Windows 8.1 powered desktop computer.

That section of the forum is dead. It's read only. If you want to read it switch your profile to use the "prosilver" rather than "raspite" theme. http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/ucp.php?i=174

Me too. It probably hasn't been reported because nobody goes there. There is no demand for Android on the Pi, and it doesn't work anyway*.

The page displays properly as plain text, so I am guessing it's an artifact in the CSS for archived, locked, forgotten and disused forums. Of which there seems to be only one.

* Yes, I know. It's "hyperbole".

Sorry, but I don't quite agree with the statement that "there is no demand for Android in the Pi", and a link from The Pi Hut blog only this morning, led me to the following page: http://raspex.exton.se/?p=43

Hopefully this will be of interest to more than a few Raspberry Pi 2 owners!

9$ for downloading an image that he has taken from another source. And no word about graphics stack / hardware acceleration.

An no, we don't need it. If you want Android, buy an android stick/tablet/phone.

Having changed the theme in my profile, I am now able to access this section of the Forum, and can indeed see that this particular thread has now indeed been "locked & archived".

I would still be interested in hearing some reactions to the link posted in my previous post however.... besides the one posted above, although I do agree that charging $9 for the download is a bit of a cheek... shame really!

They had the same thing with the old raspberry pi, there was Android which I tried out of curiosity and was really slow because of no hardware acceleration. The same thing is probably with this image, just a little faster but not usable and not within the boundaries of the boundaries goals.

I assume you mean the 'foundations' goals, which as this is an 'official' forum is fair enough, although I am sure that some users will still want to try it!
