I have a rather old 720p LCD TV for use with the Pi (LG 42LC46) – it"s a TV I got with bad caps and fixed, so I have no intention (or money!) to upgrade soon.
Anyway, the Pi boots fine on the TV and as expected the image is scaled (looks a little blocky) – but unfortunately it"s cropped at the edges. The TV seems to do this on all 1080p sources; I"ve only really used it with 720p, so is it possible to get the Pi to output 720p on the HDMI, or alternatively scale down the video so there"s a 30 or so pixel border around it (making it a weird resolution like 1860 x 1020)?
It does this in both console and LXDE when using the default Debian build.
