Certainly will - I will use it for a few days then report back how how I get on with it.
As I said I'm not very good with Linux and was having to tell my other half what to do to get it going. I will summarize here but with apologies as i'll no doubt explain it all wrong
I am using the debian image,
I set the Pi to auto login and automatically go into the GUI using the tutorial I found here.
I also used the modprobe command mentioned elsewhere to get the sound to work.
Installed the synaptic package manager
Did a search for screen reader with that and installed it from there.
The first time it launches it talks you through it's setup then reboot and it's sorted.
