Hi,
I'm running xrdp on my Raspberry Pi and use the remote desktop connection client on my Windows 7 laptop.
It works very well - except that I can't copy text on my laptop and paste it in the RDP screen of the Raspberry Pi - also does not work the other way round.
Is there a way to set this up to work?
Thanks
Nico

Re: Copy from RDP screen to laptop
XRDP transmits the screen output from one device to another, the file system is still on the machine with the XRDP Server running..
The information is out there....you just have to let it in.

Re: Copy from RDP screen to laptop
One workaround is to install Samba on your Pi and then you can copy and paste files to and from your Pi desktop
I've a install script that does all the geeky stuff (just need to supply names and passwords)

Where did you guys get the idea that we we're talking about copying/pasting FILES between the systems?
The OP talks about copying/pasting TEXT.

Re: Copy from RDP screen to laptop
Yes it is really annoying that copy / paste does not work in RDP. Do a Google search and you will find that there is trouble even when remote connection of Windows to Windows machines.
However copy and paste does work in both directions when connected to the RPi remotely with SSH using PuTTY from Windows.
- From Windows to RPi --- Select text and CTRL-C then on RPi use mouse right click to paste text at cursor location.
- From RPi to Windows --- Left click-hold and drag to highlight text then on Windows CTRL-V.

Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.
