I hope some advance price information can be given, it could also allow people to show their interest at a given price and let the foundation workout supply better.il_diavolo wrote:I've got 50 quid saved up, any guesses as to how much more I'll need
Based on the recently released Model B+, I highly doubt that the Foundation has gone too commercial.mung wrote:Of course most products start high and reduce the price and workout the elasticity, as its very hard to ever justify raising the price of a product, I hope rpi or its distributors have not become too commercial and try to make bigger profits from the screen based on the success of the rpi.
You have no idea the pain encountered before the B+ launch due to leaks and major IT web cockups (none by the Foundation who know how to keep a secret). Quite a few heads should roll in my opinion.RaTTuS wrote:I reckon the first we'll see about it will be someone in the world get's a display delivered by mistake or a distribution shop gets them out on display before they are announced ....
You must have been living under a rock. Check the front page.Joe Schmoe wrote:For those of us in the peanut gallery, what is this about a B+?
What's dat?
P.S. Whoever was in charge of keeping it a secret sure succeeded with me…
Actually, I found the big "B+ Q&A" thread just after I left this thread. Read the first page of it - got the drift. Actually, it looks very interesting. Amazon is selling the B+ for $48 and a bundle with a (2A) power supply for $55 (both free shipping). I'm seriously thinking of getting one; do these prices sound about right?ame wrote:You must have been living under a rock. Having said that, I read about it on another site before seeing it here.
It was also mentioned on the BBC, and other popular websites.Joe Schmoe wrote:Actually, I found the big "B+ Q&A" thread just after I left this thread. Read the first page of it - got the drift. Also note: the way I read this board is strictly using "Unread Posts", so I never see the "front page" (whatever that is…).
Sounds like you need a Texy screen or a PiTFT.PhilippGeyer wrote:I would also be very interested in a small display that fits on top of the raspberry.
That would be really usefull
The early proto that was on display in Manchester was able to do that.il_diavolo wrote:Sorry if this question has already been dealt with, but will the "official display" be able to show the preview image from the "official camera" or will that still only be available on the HDMI output?
