Case That Attaches to a Tripod

Sun May 11, 2014 1:15 pm

I am looking for a case that will enclose my Pi and camera and attach to a standard tripod mount. Does such a thing exist? The nearest I can find is the Nwazet Pi Camera Box and wall mount, but this doesn't seem to have the standard tripod thread.

If you can get use of a 3D printer then here is a route you could try

Hi there,

The standard tripod thread is a 1/4"-20, so if you have any DIY skills you could perhaps add your own tripod socket. Two ideas come to mind- first, if the case material is reasonably thick (say 3mm or so) you could drill a hole and use a 1/4"-20 tap to thread the hole. The second suggestion is to buy a 1/4"-20 nut and epoxy it on to the case. If your case material is thin you could drill a clearance hole and epoxy the nut on the inside.

Thanks both. I don't have access to a 3D printer, so the DIY option looks best.
