HOWTO: Bluetooth with OpenELEC

Hi guys!

The new OpenELEC 3.x version has not only improvements about performance and speed. One of the features that best took into account has been setup any Bluetooth easily (keyboards, mice, speakers, headphones or mobile), and all through its menu.
I want to show you how to set up one of these devices (in this case an Apple Wireless Keyboard) with OpenELEC 3.2.4 on the Pi

I tried this with a HP Bluetooth keyboard K4000.

Openelec bluetooth section identifies the keyboard. I do "trust and connect" and it connects and works fine.

But after sometime, the keyboard goes to standby and then when it comes back openelec cannot identify it. I have to again do "trust and connect" to enable the keyboard.

The same problem is when the keyboard is stopped and started again.

I did "Enable Standby" in the openelec menu for the keyboard. But did not help.

Any advice on this ?

Same problem here. Openelec keeps forgetting the devices (headsets and keyboard).

OpenElec 3.x which this 2 year old post refers to is obsolete. OpenElec 6.xx is what you should have installed.

Sorry I didn't mention, but I have OpenELEC 5.95.5 installed on RPi 2B. Bluetooth adapter is recognized and it can also see the devices in 'discoverable' mode. But it connects once and then is not able to automatically reconnect later. Throws out errors like "Bluetooth error: No such file or directory" when I click to 'connect' on the stored device name (under Setting>Openelec>Bluetooth). The solutions online I found were mostly for linux distros where apt-get can be used, not much help for Openelec.
