Maybe he's waiting till the 14th of Jan to announce it. Then it'll be a full year since the beginning of this thread.
I'm still interested but time-to-market is everything. I suspect a lot of the potential buyers for this have done something else now.

On the other hand, I haven't seen anything like this available anywhere else. I for one am still intending to be near the front of line if & when they're availableJb2cool wrote:I suspect a lot of the potential buyers for this have done something else now.

I hope the final design allows for a seemless HDD integration.

Coming from a different angle how about something to make-up backups really simple. Not sure how or if it can be done but consider a box with a USB connection and a SD slot. The user plugs the USB lead into the Pi, an SD card into the box and runs an application that creates an image on the new SD card.
Anyway just an idea while I waist the afternoon getting a Rpi back up and running from scratch - next time I will check my back-up image actually works !

So, the case is actually running on Kickstarter, then? I've just had a look and it says 28 days to launch. Sign me up!

Check the dates and the content of the tweets ... the kickstarter campaign is what's slated to start in January.

I love the idea of picking up one of these in combination to an adafruit LCD, than use a logitech f710 for a gamepad and a 32/64 gig sd card. Would make for a great custom console!

Hi All,
I was wondering did you ever build this case, which looked pretty cool ?
If YES where can I buy it ?
If NO why did you not pursue it ?
Thanks

They occasionally post updates on their Twitter feed, e.g.: https://twitter.com/ModMyPi/status/421624658635411456. They previously indicated they were going to do a kickstarter some time in January to help bootstrap the funding to build these, but it sounds like this may be delayed.makerfactory wrote:I was wondering did you ever build this case, which looked pretty cool ?

New to the Rpi, but this looks perfect - look forward to it becoming available.
Re: ModMyPi Mk.2 USB Hub, 2.5'' HDD, Patch Bay, On/Off - Ide
Any news? This has been going on for over a year now.
I need a new USB hub (mine is playing up) and one of these would save me buying a new one.

Has this case become available yet? It is exactly what I'm looking for.
Re: ModMyPi Mk.2 USB Hub, 2.5'' HDD, Patch Bay, On/Off - Ide
any possibly chance for interaction with the Pi Face Control and Display?
i know for my self it would prove extremely useful. for the code ive been writing.

Would certainly be interested in buying one.

Its been over a year since they started on this, I'm sceptical about if it's ever going to make it to market.

This is the exact idea I had for an ideal case for a RPi running as a media centre. Hope this will be launched soon.
To cater for a wider audience, maybe the case should include some additional "holes" to cater for hifi add-on boards like the HifiBerry and Wolfson Microelectronics audio card add-ons. Mainly, it should have holes big enough for 2 additional RCA connecters and maybe a optical port.
