Not sure - It sounds like the same issue bugsy was having on the first page of this thread.

My best guess would be to try changing the Mode line in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to 640x480 or one of the standard PAL/NTSC resolutions.

Hello,

is it possible to add AEROS for Pi to the official download page?

I've been using AEROS for a short space time (see the post on my blog) and maybe is too early to include on the official download page. Don't forget that is a paid version.

Beta 5 is ready for registered users.

There was a litlle progress in the meanwhile:
AEROS is now avaialble as ARMhf build
The AROS ABI has been stabilized so that porting over apps to it make sense now.

I have released AEROS beta 3 including "lx" command to the public.
Lx allows to launch linux apps from AROS.

Beta 4 free version is a ARMhf- build but has some regressions. Just wait for public beta 5.
Free Versions lack "lx" command but you can now enjoy or code/port AROS applications.
Linux apps are still accessible via tint2 task bar - just do a right click for making debian menu visible.

Not so hard to find....

http://amigaworld.net/modules/news/arti ... oryid=6934

So, Public Beta 5 is available for download by everyone now. I need to give this a try... I was waiting for Kalamatee's Amiga port but that one seems to have stopped (probably due to difficulties with the USB subsystem). See http://aros-exec.org/modules/newbb/view ... pe=&mode=0

I should have been more specific: I'm interested in AROS natively running on the Pi, not AEROS.

Me too. Your link leads apparently to some old news. I know USB wasn't working last time we heard from him, hence I asked for a status update.

Native version seems to be on hold. Just out of curiosity but why would be a native version more interesting? Do you believe it would be faster?

Beta6 will be available in a few hours for download (1x for registered users, 1x for public without LX-command).
Mounting linux-filesystem in AROS is working now and omxplayer can be used to play FullHD-videos.
UAE4All is included too but not tested. So it is still a beta.

Next image will come with DirectoyOpus Magellan and will be an rc1.

Personally I am interested in a native version as it seems to defeat the object of having an OS; when it is reliant on another OS to run. I may just as well run Linux. Having AROS running native fits the purist in me ;)

This is in no way a put down to the hosted version of AROS, but for me it is either all or nothing in this case :D Plus it calls to my inner :geek: hehe

I'm greedy! I want both native an hosted ARM versions of AROS :)

I really should figure out why my AROS build keeps failing and see if I can work on Raspi Native :-/

I don't believe anything, I have a critical mind ;-). Look, I don't even understand what you did. Is it two kernels running concurrently (if that's possible in the first place)? One on top of the other? Only a Linux kernel á là MacOS X? The only thing I have seen was hosted AROS, and that was a horrible experience as it didn't work out of the box.

Happy Easter:

It is still a bit tricky to use because we have only released our nery-retro-BBS-style- client to access out app store but in case you like to have a trip back to 1995 here you go:
www.indiego-gaming.com/marketplace

Please check the "ENTER THE MATRIX"Link to get to the improvised login-page. Things will change later this year, save your energy ; ) - don't moan!

Over the easter days i allow to download everyone AEROS Plus (the supporter version including the lx command to launch linux app from Wanderer and AROS shell) for free.

Best Regards,
Pascal

Yes! A graphical app store client will follow! So don't take it to serious : ) - IndieGO-OS which is basically what SteamOS is will be also available for Raspberry Pi.

If you can't find it by yourself inside the Maibox system:
The AppID for AEROS is 58.
Even if it is free, you still need to type PAP (means "purchase application") prior to try downloading.

Oh and you get a way to transform your pi into a video game console including App Store as well.

Public version is now available at http://www.aeros-os.org

Most important news:
It comes with 2D HW accelerated X11. No more black tearing if you move windows and accelerated scrolling.

Image
Image
Image

Changelog for beta7:
Updated Linux system
- 2D accelerated window movement and scrolling (no black tearing anymore, faster)
added XBMC
- Access rPi GPU directly - after Exiting you need to press ctrl+alt+f2 and then ctrl+alt+f7 to get back to Wanderer-Screen
- Fixed disordered icons
- removed empty folders
- removed ._-files
- removed crashing stuff
- fixed ejecting external media from Linux-filemanager wich was broken
- added scrot command to take screenshots from shell
- cleaned some icons (fragments from nightly)

www.aeros-os.org
Go to public section to find the beta 7 download link.

The public release is missing the lx command which allows to launch Linux programs from Wanderer or AROS shell. You can still run them from Taskbar.

There is a chance to become AEROS for additional Platforms including lx-command:

Will there be a native version of AROS which works on Raspberry Pi 2?

The last update to the Raspberry Pi Native version was August 3rd 2013, so it appears this version is on hold. This will not work on the Pi 2.

The Linux Hosted version works fine on Raspbian on the Pi 2, available from AROS Nightly Builds. The one which works is linux-armhf-system, you can also add in the files from linux-armhf-contrib. (Extracting these archives will take quite a long time, patience is required!)

Don't know if someone is working on a native Version.

AEROS Plus has been updated to work on Pi2:

Hi,

in short we will release AEROS Premium for Raspberry Pi which allows also the execution of Linux i386 binaries and with Wine also i386 Windows applications side by side with ARM Linux and ARM AROS binaries... cool ? Yes definitely cool.

This one runs on a Pi2 but is based on a Pi 1 compatible ground. After the initial Pi1/Pi2 compatible release, we will work on a version which works only on Pi2 but offers better performance so with luck WinUAE will run than perfectly : ) (yeah I know that ARM Linux become a JIT 68k as well, but WinuUAE is a nice benchmark for me).

Btw... I decided to release a older "full Version of beta 8" of AEROS for Raspberry Pi 1 here:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/news/arti ... oryid=7367

It is averrable for users of the indieGO! Appstore
http://www.indiego-gaming.com/marketplace (scroll down to get the graphical clients /on the top are text-only clients)

Alternatively you can use this puplic link to get the Raspberry Pi 1 only Version:
http://www.indiego.rocks/file/downloadA ... 5c78a24ad5

BTW:
AEROS will soon be available in a public image only. Registered users will just need to activate some components with their indieGO!-ID. So the free image become "Plus".

Plus Users again will be able to upgrade to "Premium" which adds Exagear X86 Wrapper so you can run i386 binaries.

Premium will be also available as physical package and replace the Plus images.
A upgrade to plus can be done from the the, since beta 9 included, indieGO!-Appstore.

But.. at first I wish you fun with beta 8 on your Raspberry Pi 1 ; )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udTjaW7ke8k

If someone moans about the music should be aware that those are remixes from classic Amiga games songs. The first one is Xenon Megablast. If you dislike them you will be blocked : p

Hi There,

Will these releases be free along the same lines as something like RISC OS?

It would be nice to have a fully Pied up Amiga based operating system that could be packaged as part of Raspian.

Many thanks
