Re: If you could order now..
Been watching this project for quite a while, but just registered to give feedback here. I am excited to see this release, I will order at least 2 model B's as soon as they are available, and probably 2 others, but haven't fully decided on A or B model for those.
Re: If you could order now..
I would order one per taste just to begin, for my own use.
Then, if feasible, I would like to substitute my board sensors (PIC based) with raspberrypi (probably B version) at work. That means another A and B model for experiments at work.
Total: 2 model A's + 2 model B's.

Re: If you could order now..
Would go for at least one 'A' and two 'B'. A 'B' would be a cool Xmas (Boxing day) gift for a good friend of mine.
For the 'A' I would like to see if I could move from a PCIntell/W2k system that is a icecast station to this! Hang a Hard Drive and a Wireless adapter off of the USB connection. My Friend and I have had a multi year project but most decent boards like this make it to expensive to do. But a 'B' would be ideal!!!!

Re: If you could order now..
One model B for me with a possible second one later on. All these model B replies makes me wonder if the model A will actually get produced? I believe the first batch is all "B"'s?
Re: If you could order now..
I'd probably order 2 or 3 B-models: one for me for all kinds of projects, and the one or two to friends for HTPC uses. Possibly also set up one as a semi-desktop for a friend who is starting to show more than just passing interest in internals of computers.

IMHO model A would be much more useful if it sported more USB ports, then it could be used for more diverse projects even though it lacks LAN. Alas, only 1 USB port is too little for anything I have in mind.

Re: If you could order now..
Hmm.... I would order one for each member of my family & specially my sisters which would benefit them greatly on many different aspects! So that would Sum up 5 & at least another 2 or 3 for me to use for several applications!
Re: If you could order now..
If there was not a 1 limit I would order 2 at first.
Then if it can do all the projects I have in mind... 7 or 8 more.
Then once I get them working I am sure my family will talk me into giving them to them so another 5 or 6 there.
So 1 for sure 2 very likely and a solid maybe on 12-14 more.
All model Bs
For what I want to use them for the model A isn't that attractive.

I would order 2 model B.
First one to use as a mediaplayer running with XBMC
The second one to experiment with it.

Re: If you could order now..
I am not interested in the Model A in the slightest. I think the 128MB of RAM limitation is likely more cumbersome than the lack of built in ethernet or more than one USB port. (Network dongles and USB hubs are cheap.) I would buy a single B now, and then likely augment it with 4 or 5 friends at a later date. This would give me the extremely cheap means to practice distributed development and dynamic scaleability.

Re: If you could order now..
I've got plans for 3, maybe 4.
On a similar note, will we be able to donate to the foundation by paying more?

Re: If you could order now..
5 x B for start... I would guess 50 would be the next buy...
Re: If you could order now..
If the price lands at $25 I would buy a six pack, of model B
Re: If you could order now..
2x B version for my first project (I can change the SD to have different project on it) and 3 other for friends.
After this 5 to 10 B version.

Re: If you could order now..
At first I just need one Model B. First 10,000 batch will go quickly.
Later on about 20 more for a Bramble Cluster(using the cool name even if the config is not technically a cluster). Bramble Clusters should be very quiet. I have a project requiring lots of CPU and have to work in the same room as solution.
Thanks for these products and your brilliant educational aims.

Re: If you could order now..
I'm going to order 1 Model B and then expect to order at least 1 more later.
Plan to configure one as a Risc OS computer and another for XBMC.
As the software evolves for it with more mainstream apps etc I'll probably end up with more.

Re: If you could order now..
Well I'd love more than one Model B.. So 1 from the first round would make me happy..
It doesn't pay to be greedy!

Re: If you could order now..
I need two of the latest version. I can't wait, I check this site 3 times a day for updates.
Re: If you could order now..
Well, I'd like lots of them. One B for starters though. I have a million uses for one. And because they come in far cheaper than the most lowly uC board available to me it means that it's possible to reach a lot higher in quality and function of my planned ideas.
Re: If you could order now..
I'm waiting to order 1 B as soon as I can.
