Do other people also have this problem?

If you are using a secured connection via SSL ("https" in the URL), try to browse the website with "http" in front of the URL. That image is hosted on the webspace of the blog and I cannot provide another link.

If someone sends me instructions for sharing a file that already hosted somewhere via Bittorrent, I could also put a torrent file on the download site.

I will create and upload a ZIP archive of the image. Maybe this will work better for Windows.

I just came across this thread, so i have not had a chance to look at the image, but does the image come with games "pre-installed" or will I have to hunt and download the 'roms' myself?

thanks

To prevent any legal issues there are no ROM or BIOS files included in the image.

I have just added a torrent file for the SD card image at http://blog.petrockblock.com/retropie-downloads/.

I would be glad if you could post here, whether it is working for you or not.

Is it possible to add the vice emulator for c64? Or AdvMess, I don't know what's better. Would be a great addition!

I have added VICE for C64 emulation yesterday to the RetroPie Script! The binaries-based installation is a pretty fast way for getting VICE on the RPi.

The update of the SD card image will take some more days.

Thank you for the RetroPie SD image...I have one request...on your next retropie image can you include the SDL 1.2 libs. I currently only have one raspberry pi (model A) and no internet for the raspberry pi and would like to do some c game programming. I know it is not exactly what your project is about, but it would be great help for me..thank you ;)

I'm going to try an alternative spectrum emulator to test, because FUSE doesn't work very well

If you want to see my guide about RetroPie: http://misapuntesde.com/post.php?id=109

Thanks PetRockBlog for your SD Card image. ;)

Update to version 1.4

Sun Apr 07, 2013 4:43 pm

I have updated the download for the SD-card image to version 1.4. The main enhancements are
  • Added system-dependent change of HDMI video resolution for increased performance for RetroArch-based emulators.
  • Added automatic USB ROM-copy service
  • Added x86 emulator rpix86
  • Added Apple ][ emulator Linapple
  • Enhanced themes
You find the download at http://blog.petrockblock.com/retropie/r ... downloads/.

Re: RetroPie Project SD-Card Image

I recently downloaded this image (after the April 7th update), wrote it to my SD card, copied over my roms, and rebooted the pi. I had to modify the config.txt on the SD card to see any output over hdmi (had to uncomment the hdmi_safe and boost hdmi display items). I saw the pi bootup, and then I saw the "The RetroPie Project" logo displayed, followed by a black screen. I assume this is where EmulationStation is supposed be running. I'm not seeing the white dot in the middle of the screen like in other questions I've seen. It's all black and stays that way, there might be a slightly lighter black border around the outside of the display. Any advice on changing settings or something to get EmulationStation to show up, if that's what's running after the retropie logo? Thanks!

I re-checked the image myself - downloaded and copied the image to an SD-card, booted the pi. Everything went fine for me.

Are you sure the ROMs you copied are in the right format/location? Check ~/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg for the list.

Does the new image (1.4.1) include the gpSP emulator? I could not tell when I looked through the change log :P

Image ver. 1.4 does not contain gpSP yet. The next update of the image will contain it, though.

Anyone care to explain what to do after installing the image?

My rpi boots into emulationstation but I don't see any emulators, just doom, cave story and duke nukem demo.

Are the other emulators inside the image or do they have to be installed separately?

Have you copied over your ROMs? Emulators won't display in EmulationStation unless at least one ROM is present. More info on how to copy on the wiki here: https://github.com/petrockblog/RetroPie ... he-SD-card

That was it, thanks!

Im surprised at how well snes emulation works, the only rom that was unplayable (really slow) was starfox out of all the ones I tried. Hopefully it will get better...

Cheers!
