I just had a cool idea for a case for my RasPi. It has easy access, solid with a view port so you can see the device and an 80's retro feel. It's also quite cheap.
Take a look at Maplin, here's the link (minor modification may be needed!)

Not tall enough for a model B

From what I gather, they're still widely used by folks with poor vision, as tapes and tape-players tend to be easier to use than CDs or digital files. It seems to get mentioned frequently in reviews of tape players on the Argos website.
I still use them, myself, as it's a rather cheap way of getting old albums in digital form - it's often a fraction of the price of purchasing MP3s, and pretty close sound-quality, too, as long as you keep your tape player in good order.

What about a VHS tape? That should be thick enough, and there are millions around unused, you could even leave the tape protector on to act as a guard over some of the ports...

*Stands up*
I still use them, to load old computer games off.
What you could do for the Model B is stack two of them.
Wonder would one fit in a 2600/NES cart? (id say NeoGeo but you could get a house in one of those).
Think of the awesomeness that would be a Atari cart that plays Atari games

Or you could use one from a double album!
