I don't see how you can retract a bid; its an auction. If you so much as scratch your nose in an auction room you bought it.

Under 45 mins to go until someone out there, owns the first Raspberry Pi ever sold.

This should make up for there being no premier league football on today. C'mon you Raspberries!

I never liked the whole sniping idea.

I do use go-industry but they have a different rule: any bid in the last 10 minutes extends the time by another 10 minutes. Gives better result for the seller.

I was hoping for some last minute sniping action - maybe there'll be some for #09.  Die Hard with a Vengeance on BBC1 soon & should fill the waiting time nicely.

Amazing stuff.

Board 1 is the one to watch, I wonder if there will be any pressure on the bid towards the end?  Going on how the others ended, I feel that there won't be much drama.

#4 sold for  £1550 but #3 went up to £2257 on 74 bids.

Of those still active, #2 is on £2050 with 34 bids and #1 is static at £3500.

I'm amazed at #3!

Wasn't #3 the one which featured in the video which featured Eben scratching away with a knife in order to perform the necessary mod to the Beta board? Maybe that's why it attracted so much interest. I wouldn't be surprised if #2 goes for even more.

I wonder what the first 10 production boards are going to go for?  It would be a shame not to capitalize on that opportunity as well.

I don't think an attempt to capitalise on the production boards would be as successful as the auctioning of the beta boards was.  I suppose it would depend on the serial numbers involved, but I fear it would result in wild accusations of the Foundation getting into bed with eBay scalpers.

It would be much better to let the production boards go to their new homes as nature intended.

Oh well.

Board #2 did well, putting on another £100 since I saw it yesterday, ending at £2150.  Board #1 stayed at its £3500.  I think sniping and counterbidding was somewhat restricted by the £100 bid increment, not altogether a bad thing at this level as it discourages the frivolous and the troublemaker, but it does reduce the drama. 

A nice result for the Foundation!

Now to look forward to the opening of the Pi Shoppe!!!

Also, the pre-production boards are different, so not as easy to fake them.

Although if I had the luck to get production board serial #11, then it would be a waste to burn it out on a project (perhaps ebay and split proceeds or something in that case).

Chances are, it"d be put aside for framing anyway (and perhaps bronzing)!
