still no cifs/samba. attempted to even use via xbmc itself this time and was thrown up an error message. believe something about unavailable or such. cifs/samba get removed?

Just tested CIFS/SMB with r12431 (I normally use NFS), and CIFS/SMB it's working fine (FreeNAS x64 8.3.0-RELEASE). I could also access the SMB shares on the Pi itself.

Would suggest you enable DEBUG in Settings, and check your xbmc.log for errors/information.

Ah, sorry, missed that you meant you are having problems with OS level CIFS mounts. Yeah OK, the OS level CIFS mounts are broken, but accessing CIFS/SMB using XBMC mounts is working fine.

So we have a non-crashing... 1080p playing... smooth navigating system now at r12500. Only thing missing for near perfection? Menu sounds. Please I have pi cases for xmas all wrapped up and if I could finally hook them up to the rest of the tvs it'd be a great gift! (Wife does not accept "testing" level software and it's "features", she gets a bit whiny.)

Hi Guys,

I've been running 12662 for a few days now, it's been running great. 1080p dts passthrough via smb (Windows 2008 Server) is perfect, even a 22gb untouched BR rip only slightly stutters in some places but is more than watchable, GUI is nice and zippy and no problems with youtube add-on.

Current Setup;

600 Movies (All MKV, mixed SD and HD)
1400 TV Episodes (Mixed Formats)
1200 Albums (mp3 or flac)
All imported and scapped into Library (Movie Titles take about 3sec to load, Actors about 6sec)

Going to give it a few weeks of trial and if its all good, an RPI for all the TV's in the house as a late Christmas pressy for me!!!

Not sure if this is the place to ask but I'm trying to password protect a specific TV series in my library (namely The Sopranos). I read that if I enable the Master Lock then I should get a new option in the configuration menu for the source to lock it. This doesn't happen though. If I enable the Master lock, without checking the lock video window or any other options then all my Movies and TV Series just disappear as though my library is empty. The recently added items are still showing above the menu bar and can be selected and played but if I actually click on TV Series or Movies in the menu bar then I don't see any entries. Is this a bug or am I getting it all wrong? What is the correct way to password protect a video source (using only the GUI preferably)?

I just tried the new LiveTV feature:
It dosn't work, i have a existing vdr setup that works fine with the xbmc on my laptop,
however openelec on my pi dos not play video only sound.

As there is no edit function (at least i did not find one):
HD Channels work, i'd guess its a problem with mpeg 2 decoding.

You can only edit posts within the first 30 minutes or so - a rather annoying and somewhat pointless restriction that I've never seen employed on any other forum.

it seems changing the Channel is a problem.
sound plays screen stays black.
Happens on HD Channels as well.

Well, the latest few versions of openelec (currently using 12806) have knackered 1080p content for me which previously ran perfectly fine on my 512mb Pi. Every now and again there is a slight pause or hip-cup or brief period of buffering which lasts perhaps half a second. It can't be predicted when it will happen but it's usually around fast moving scenes. I haven't changed any settings recently or altered my network configuration. 1080p 5.1 DTS files have, up until recent builds (perhaps since 12737 or thereabouts), run without issue with my 1ghz overclock.

Any idea as to why this has now changed? Perhaps something to do with the latest pi firmware or the changes which have been made to stabilise xbmc for 256mb pi's? Ill be going back to a release from a few weeks ago where everything worked fine until this is resolved.
