Pi volume control

Tue Dec 18, 2012 5:11 pm

While playing some music from my ext HD thru the PI to XBMC, I was using earplugs directly into the Pi. The volume was somewhat uncomfortably high. Is there a way to control the volume out of the stereo jack or is it set up at a constant rate and the device/application you would feed the audio to is what you use to control the volume?

OK, I tried the volume buttons on my wireless keyboard but I didn't see a progress bar showing me the volume is going up or down. Since my last post I no longer have any audio so I'm not sure what I did. I'm going to re-image my SD card to get back to where I was and see if that helps. I still can't find any control on the XBMC GUI for volume though. Any help? Thanks

Not sure but this might help:

in XBMC
F8 = Mute
F9 = Volume Down
F10 = Volume Up

I have the same question.
I've searched everywhere for a volume control and can't find one.
Also tried the keys above to no avail. :/
Can anyone help please?

Hey!

I use this command to change output on the 3,5mm output:

Code: Select all

amixer cset numid=1 -- 20%
I took it from this post http://jeffskinnerbox.wordpress.com/201 ... pberry-pi/
