Pi Store sounds like a good idea but are the apps tested and scrutinised before they're released to the general public i.e. bugs, and naughty lines of code??

I can confirm that any submissions to the store are manually checked before they are approved to be listed for download. The main things that we're checking for are that it runs without error on the Pi and doesn't contain any illegal content, themes or copyright/license infringements.

I do notice that there are 25 applications listed, and 259 developers registered. That's an average of 0.097 applications each. Maybe there are 234 apps in an "advanced stage of development" Or possibly it would be better not to list developers until they publish.

ruwin - I don't think it distinguishes between Indiecity Developers and those who are Pi Store focussed, hence the apparently large number of devs signed up.

I'm trying to upload WebIOPi...
But when registered as a developer, we are redirected to indiecity without ability to specify a "Raspberry Pi" project...
Also, is there any guideline to upload apps for the Pi ?

Are you on PC when doing this? In order to upload currently you need to be in the Pi Store on the Pi itself, and then use the Upload section.

Very soon you will be able to upload from PC as well, and a detailed instructions page will shortly be provided.

On another computer (not a PC ), yes, I develop on a headless Pi using SSH and network sharing.
I'll try to add a remote desktop on my Pi to do it because I don't have any screen to plug in.

If you want someone to help test, I have a rev1.1 board and an SD card that i'm willing to put to work testing apps from the pi store

Its got one broken USB port, but other than that its working, and i'm more than happy to set aside an SD card, and isolate the pi from my network, so i dont have to worry about virus's.

You can register as a developer from a PC. I did. I'm converting some JavaME phone code to JavaFX, and then adding to it. I hope to have it done round about when the oracle VM is in full release. Just wondering what the situation is with LinuxPC/Pi dual release is. Do you just upload one thing and select 2 platforms or is a double upload needed? I could have two startup scripts in the one release. It could even work on windows if someone else wrote the startup script.

It would be nice if the start up scripts were automated to be added to the download after finding the Application class. Also nice to have would be an addition to the download of a helper process which could be configured to send key presses to the Application Scene. This would in effect make a keyboard the standard controller, and make all applications automatically joypad compatible.

You need to do a separate upload for each platform, but these can all be managed under the one project. If you just select a new platform in the project's 'Platforms/Installers' tab, you're presented with a set of Upload/Build buttons for each platform.

Hrm - I'll admit it's not one I've seen before. Sounds like a missing dependency though. Would you mind removing and reinstalling the Pi Store, if you haven't already?

Also, are you on a fairly new Raspbian image (I'm not aware of any problems with older images, but I'd recommend being as up-to-date as possible)? Have you removed any packages which came on the image?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm just trying to work out what it's most likely to be.

I've removed and reinstalled pistore and no difference. Looks like I'm just going to have to wipe the sd card and start afresh and put all the stuff back on it.

update, i formatted the card and reinstalled raspbian, all works fine now.
