I'm not able to edit the Raspberry Pi Wikipedia page for NPV reasons, but I've noticed that the name of the processor is wrong, and that the overview section's a bit out of date. If any of you is an editor and fancies having a swing at it, we'd be very grateful!

I notice that the Wikipedia page shows a picture of the USB-stick size prototype. It might be better to change that pic to that of an alpha board: I have observed on the Internets that many people still incorrectly expect the final device to be of the USB-key form factor. It will be nice if we can prevent that error from propagating.

Liz: I assume it is OK to copy the pic of the alpha board from the Raspi web site for use in Wikipedia.

You might want to look through the news page on the forums for more up-to-date references, too. I'd recommend the Electronics Weekly, Observer and Geek.com articles as being particularly useful.

I note the article says this:

But from what I've read thus far the boards will ship without SD cards (a preconfigured SD card will cost extra I'm guessing?) and therefore the price quoted is not for "a pre-configured system".

That's right. That said, we're expecting that a lot of people will have their own SD cards - the idea with using very common parts like SD cards, coax and so on is that hopefully, as many as possible will have the bits at home already. We'll have disc images up on the site here, so people can flash their own SD cards instead of having to buy a pre-flashed one from us, although doing that will always be possible too.

Yes that's what I understood, but the wiki page is misleading because it implies it will be ready out of the box with a preflashed SD card for $35, which isn't the case.

Everyone - another plea to get you to keep the Wikipedia site as up to date as you can. Consanguinity/proximity/NPOV and all those other Wikithings mean that I can't do it myself, but it's currently quite frustrating because it's not very complete or up to date, and many of the people outside this board are getting their info on the board from Wikipedia, then writing about it elsewhere.
