viewonly and scale with vncserver-x11-serviced

Thu Jun 20, 2019 12:23 am

I'm trying to get the VNC server to start in viewonly mode with a scale of 0.25x0.25 but can't see exactly where this has to be set.

In the older OS I would start VNC with the -viewonly switch etc but /usr/bin/vncserver-x11-serviced doesn't take these options. I've tried adding configuration to the /etc/vnc/config.d/common.custom along with my working authentication setting but it doesn't have any effect. Can anyone advise where to put this configuration or even better point to the documentation that specifies how to do it?

Assuming you are using RealVNC as shipped with Raspbian then the file for config is /etc/vnc/config.d/vncserver-x11 or for a specific user ~/.vnc/config.d/vncserver-x11

I think it’s then the guest access you are after for view only https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/docs ... uestaccess

No idea on the scaling though...

Nice One, the documentation you provided gave me the following which deals with the view only bit.
/etc/vnc/config.d/common.custom

Code: Select all

AcceptPointerEvents=FALSE
AcceptKeyEvents=FALSE
Still looking into how to scale things :)
