Raspbian Buster has a add/remove software menu item.
There is a games section.

I don't think anyone has gone through it and tested all of them.
0AD does not work yet, Warzone2100 sort of works.
I only have a 4B1, these games might need more memory?

GTA San Andreas? Going to need a screen shot of that.

I would also add Open Xcom to this list, which is an open source engine for the classic game Xcom. I managed to compile it on my Raspberry Pi 3 and it ran fairly well.
This is their website:

Did anyone try to compile the Doom 3 engine on Raspberry Pi 4? I'm wondering how it would perform there. I'd do it myself but I don't have an RPI4.

There's a repo for an updated version of the engine on github.

What about a new list for Pi4 games?
I'm finding games that have no chance of being playable on Pi3's are now ok on Pi4's.

Anyone know what games are fine at 1920x1080 on Pi4's?

There is a YouTube channel called PI LAB that has a list of games that will run on the RPI4B, the YouTube channel includes both source ports as well as various emulators which includes PSP, Dreamcast, N64, x86, etc., here is a link to the YouTube channel:

Hello. I'm searching for a binary builds of a games for Raspbian Linux. I have 10 version. I have RPi 3. I prefer legacy broadcom driver instead of Mesa driver, but I can use them both.
Now I have a build of Quake3 for legacy broadcom driver, I'd build it in 2017 for Jessie. But servers are empty. Maybe someone have SuperTuxKart build?

I don't believe there was ever a build of STK for the legacy driver, but if you use the Mesa driver you should be able to just:

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
sudo snap install supertuxkart

So I just had a good time playing Diablo on my Pi 4.

I built the game engine from this repo, you have to have the original game to play. I had to grab a font otherwise works.

Punishing game was trying to figure out how to find creative ways to get better equipped the old ways don't work.

You can install it from the official repositories:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install pysolfc pysolfc-cardsets

I got it working, I was missing some dev packages :

# check additional libraries installed
sudo apt-get install libsdl1.2debian libsdl-image1.2 zlib1g libogg0 libvorbis0a libopenal1
sudo apt-get install build-essential libsdl-image1.2-dev libopenal-dev libvorbis-dev
# clone Assault Cube repository to a folder called AC
git clone https://github.com/assaultcube/AC.git
# change directory
cd AC/source/src
# build and install
make install
cd ~/AC
/home/pi/AC/bin_unix/native_client --home=/home/pi/.assaultcube/v1.2next --init -t

Note - the '-t' flag starts in window, full screen gave me a corrupt screen. I've got OpenGL Full enabled. Also game doesn't always start reliably.

Hi, I found AssaultCube in the Add/Remove Software on Raspbian Buster (i'm running Pi 4B 8GB) and installed it. But after installing the package, nothing seem happened. Any idea on this? Btw, i'm really new to Raspbian. Thank you in advance.

If a game from the Raspberry Pi repository does not run on the Raspberry Pi computer. I would not bother with the game. Install a different game instead. Here is a better idea, search through the Raspberry Pi forums gaming section to find games you can play on the Raspberry Pi computer. This Raspberry Pi games list is not updated anymore either. This means we need a new person to maintain a games list for the Raspberry Pi computer. We need a games list based on the version of the Raspberry Pi computer. Games that will run on the Raspberry Pi 4 computer. Games for the Raspberry Pi 3 computer. Games for the Raspberry Pi Zero computer. Not separate lists, no we need consolidated lists instead.

Here is a website that had demo games for MS-DOS. you can play these DOS games using DOSBox. Here is a link to the website:

Download playable demo games - DOS Games Archive
https://www.dosgamesarchive.com/filetype/playable-demo/

To install DOSBox on your Raspberry Pi computer, use this command in the terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install dosbox
This article that shows you how to use DOSBox:

The list is avoiding individually emulated games, and it's nice to have a list strictly about games the Pi can actually run than the usual top 100 emulated favorite toplists that give the impression how the Pi's only ever for emulating.

(Also the dosbox on apt-get is terribly slow. Compile from DOSbox's SVN instead)

0 A.D
https://play0ad.com

Works pretty well (slow FPS but smooth enough gameplay with great graphics).

Code: Select all

sudo apt install 0ad

Open Jedi Academy & Outcast
https://github.com/JACoders/OpenJK

Info on Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast is outdated. There is a more recent Pi Labs compilation which runs great (FPS anywhere from 30 to 60 with maximum quality, depending on resolution).

Info here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl8G6lV47vM

Mind you will need to supply your own original game content.

Yes. It is part of the Raspberry OS repo: http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian/pool/main/0/

A few things worth mentioning;

- Uses around 2GB of disk space;
- My comments are relative to the experience of running it on a Pi4.

FPS should be anywhere in the range of 4 to 30, depends on the resolution being used and the number/size of textures on screen.

Even with very low FPS it is nevertheless playable/responsive enough.

Just run "sudo apt install 0ad" and that's it?
Do i need to do anything else? .

A list of games that will run on the Raspberry Pi computer? This is the list of games that will run on the Raspberry Pi computer. Which is a list of games that will run on any Linux computer. A video game does not need to be designed for the Raspberry Pi computer. If the game is compatible with Linux operating systems. Then you should be able to run the game on the Raspberry Pi computer. You need to configure the program, then compile the program on the Raspberry Pi computer. Any game that is open source has the potential to run on the Raspberry Pi computer. For a list of games that are compatible with Raspberry Pi operating system, search the Debian website:
