Liberal Crime Squad: XML parsing problem

Fri Apr 12, 2019 3:29 am

Greetings fellow raspberry lovers. I am in need of your assistance. I am stuck with this XML parsing problem which I only encounter on the raspberry pi (3b stretch 2018) since I installed this game on my main linux desktop and it works. The problem is when I install this game Liberal Crime Squad from here https://github.com/Kamal-Sadek/Liberal-Crime-Squad - I am able to compile but the text in the interface is messed up. See my pictures here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=173644.0 No one seems to know how to fix this problem in their forum. Ive tried installing different types of xml parsers but nothing works. I will need the guidance of the raspberry masters themselves. Please if anyone could help me, id really appreciate it. Thanks and good day!

I think only one that understand how the XML files is used to produce the text on the screen can really understand what is failing.

- Maybe looking at the differences in the "configure" logs on the desktop build and the raspberry build of the same version can give some hints.
- Maybe the build errors you have found on even newer versions are related the XML parsing.

Hi topguy,
Thank you for your response. I tried your advise and compared both config logs. It was almost the same except for some configurations in the “Configured with: ..src/configure -v” and that my desktop used gcc7 as opposed to rpi’s gcc6. Still no change. Waiting for a XML parsing expert to bump into this thread! All the best!
