I am planning on putting a raspberry pi 3a+ into an rc car and adding various sensors to it. I already have the raspberry pi with Ubuntu mate (bionic 18.04.2 - https://ubuntu-mate.org/download/) downloaded onto it and have the os up and running. I am planning on putting ROS(robot os) onto it to control the RC car (preferably this one - https://www.argos.co.uk/product/2462732). I will then use the raspberry pi camera and an ultrasonic sensor to allow it to understand its surroundings
So I have 2 questions:
1. Do you think this project will work?
2. Which motor controller board would you recommend to control the motors on the RC car.
