Powered usb hub

Wed Jan 02, 2019 6:52 pm

Any suggestions on a powered USB hub? I don't need it to power my Pi3b+, and would only need 2-4 ports. All I want to do is be able to use my Seagate backup plus slim HD. I have a dedicated power supply for my Pi. It's a little unclear with a simple search, as most others are looking to power their Pi as well, which I am not.

The "Juiced Systems" units on Amazon look pretty good. I just received a "10-Port USB 3.0 Hub" that is a very solid unit, comes with a 12V 4A "switching power adapter" that is not delicate at all! Anyway, I am impressed - externally - we'll see how it performs. I plan to put it to work this weekend.

I ran some tests and got good results with the DLink DUB-H4 hub.

Thanks for the replies. That dlink is priced reasonably, I think I'll give it a try!
