How to install screen drivers?

Hi, i have problem with my display for Pi (B+), it is just basic GPIO pins with 3.5 inch from Banggood . Just came to me yesterday. I connected it to GPIO pins and booted up my Pi but the display just stayed white and it was expected cuz i knew i was missing drivers, i just searched how to install these but every driver i installed, my Pi rebooted and i was stuck in kernel with message: crng init done. This happened like 4x times and i have to reinstall Raspbian everytime . I on package, i noticed: Driver:ILI9486, downloaded it form github :https://github.com/palmerr23/STM32F01-I ... RPi-Driver i just downloaded it to my Pi, but im newbie in Debian and i dont know how to use console to install these drivers.
Any tips for me?

Generally, for a screen like that, the manufacturer or supplier should provide the data needed to install drivers or configuration information.

You have not linked to the Screen you purchased, only to some drivers which may or may not be correct.

XPT2046 is a touchscreen driver, not a GPIO driven SPI screen driver.

Yeah, i know what brings with it shopping from these websites like Aliexpress and Banggood, but they were cheap and i tought i will find the drivers installation guide at net.

Personally, I would not trust any third party supplied OS. Who knows what they secretly installed on it.

I bought once a similar screen, on Amazon (Quimat). The instructions were to clone this github repo : https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show And it works !

There a script that only add an overlay file (a .dtb file) on the boot partition, and modify the cmdline.txt and config.txt file so the kernel knows where to output the display. There is a script that does it for you. Read the readme file of the repo.

Hi, thanks for all the info. I am trying to install the driver as well form the waveshare wiki. I have a 4.3 LCD. It is my first time working with Raspberry pi and I am afraid I am very confused and may be scared to do some of the things, because I may destroy something.

I have a Raspberry 2, with Raspbian downloaded from the Raspberry pi web site, and the Waveshare 4.3 inch LCD. I can connect an external screen and work with Raspberry pi with no problem.

Now I want to install the driver and be able to connect to the LCD screen using the HDMI, as I need access to all the pins for controlling motors etc.

When I go to the waveshare wiki and link to the github, I can only download the entire folder they have. Now, how do I copy this in my micro-SD? I guess I can not do it by copy paste, right? I tried it but when I put my microSD in the card reader, I get a message that I need to format it. But it was formatted when the Raspbian was burnt on it.

Please, help me. I would like to get a bit more details on the initial steps... e.g., downloading the driver in the microSD and then running the proper file in Raspbian. I would assume that to do so, I will originally have to hook up both LCD screen using the pins and an external screen using HDMI.
