We're going to manufacture an ATSC TV Hat for the Raspberry PI within the next 3-4 weeks (we're just waiting for the production parts).

ATSC via SPI, just like the European version.

More information will be available once the ICs and parts arrive in our office

Bump.
I prematurely purchased the current (DVB) TV HAT, soon realizing it won't work in the U.S... I installed it anyway, TVHeadEnd sees it, but it appears the Sony CXD2880 tuner on which the HAT is based will only decode DVB-T and T2 signals. Was really hoping there was a way to simply pass the raw radio signals to a software-based decoder. New to pi but not Linux, so I know there are probably some ways to do what I want. Maybe not. An ATSC capable TV HAT would sure make things a bit easier :)

There are a few of us who would be happy to test the ATSC version - we can even implement a LibreELEC solution/integration. :-)

Oh still someone interested in it.

The Raspberry PI 3 is limited to around 30mhz on SPI, we still have a Raspberry PI 4 lying around which needs to be tested.
Our plan was actually to add 2 ATSC receivers to it (but the bandwidth needs to be reliable). I'll come back within the next few days with more information.

We're coming up on the one year anniversary of this thread and I am even more excited about this being a possibility today than before. Can we please get an update?

any update on this? I'd love to find a way to make the DVB version I bought on accident work (so I can return it!), or know when/if a ATSC version will be available as I'd rather wait for that then purchase a HDHomeRun or similar product!

are you aware of and/or are interested in the new software definable radio chips from saankhya labs?

this could vastly increase the capabilities of the TV HAT from just DVB T2 to a wide variety of radio wave forms for TV and Satellite.

If there is interest, please contact me. I believer there would be explosive interest in a Radio HAT with a wide range of flexibility.

There isn't really a handy way to contact you here. Until some other ATSC Raspberry PI HAT shows up, I imagine everyone here is interested in this. I cannot help suspecting this will be a rather high cost solution and thus not be suitable, but until an alternative is available... Surprising no ATSC HAT has shown from the foundation yet.

Greetings from 2020! Any update on this? Would love to get OTA broadcasts available from my hometown through VPN.
