RPi metal case

Tue Jul 10, 2012 6:55 am

My solution for a RPi metal case.

It's a rectangular tin in sandblasted optic with single lid.

I fixed the RPi with cutted and self-adhesive Kapa panels.
The cuttings where done by a dremel.

Does someone know a solution to bring out the RPi connectors?
E.g.: A HDMI connector mounted in the case and connected with a short cable to the RPis HDMI connector.

I've just bought this for a case I'm working on. It's the shortest I could find and quite cheap too.
I'll let you know how it is once I get it.

Nice case btw.
And actually, you may be better off with something similar to this

It's a shame you have already cut the holes for the other ports as this extension might need the board to be moved slightly further away. But there are loads of these adapters about so have a shop around.

I was thinking similar lines use an HDMI to Mini HDMI adaptor then use a cable that connects Mini HDMI to your Monitor whatever it uses. The adaptors tend to be short.

So, here is my newest version of RPi case.
It's the same case, but a little bit more case-modding.

If i find an angled USB-Power cable, it will be possible to bring out all the cables at only one side.
The RPi is held by an selfmade plate from KAPA-Plates.
At the end the lid is varnished in red.
