which is the magpi text editor

Fri Aug 24, 2018 2:13 pm

Hello All,
I am new to raspberry pi, I somehow stumbled on this and I really liked, so I recently purchased the Raspberry Pi 3b+ kit. I have some programming background but new to raspberry pi. So my question could be weird.

Which text editor is used in magpi to show python scripts. I really like the syntax highlighting in this one. I tried many (IDLE, GVIM, THONNY, Notepad++) but none gives this results.
I know it is a code which really matters and not the text editor, but really loved this colour combo.

Thanks!

I get lots of python highlighting with vim-full (not the pre-installed vim-tiny piece of junk).

You can get loads of highlighters with most programmers editors...

We hand-edit those to look like that due to the limitations of our design software - it's based on pretty standard syntax highlighting with our own colour scheme.
