Pretty efficient time compression eh ?

If I knew I could order and receive that quickly I wouldn't have registered with RS and gone with Farnell instead.

Still waiting on a dispatch email (June 19th order - 760xx). Should be today.

I would guess this week or next week.

They are dispatching orders around 75xxx right now.

Just a heads up for people in the UK.

You may not get an email from Parcelforce confirming dispatch.
I came home from work today to find an RS package after refreshing Outlook every 5 mins for 2 days. Ah well I avoided doing any work

Ordered: June 19th (5 week lead time)
Order reference: 760xx
Delivered: July 24th (5 weeks to the day!)

Ok, so those pictures in the first post should be updated, I think because a lot of people are confused about these new 10 digits long IDs.

I think we should simply cut off the first 4 digits so eg.: in my case 1010158xxx would become 158xxx, right? Or isn't it so simple? Please, let us know.

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned by that too, everyone who's getting there order has numbers in the 77 THOUSAND range and my order number is 1 BILLION plus range

RS are doing weird stuff round the Pi, it may be that yours is a regular order number while the other peoples orders are though the Pi specific system.

The nightmare for choosing RS is not over yet for me. Attention those who wish to cancel your order.

On July 12 I filled out the cancellation form (http://authenticate.rsdelivers.com/stat ... tions.aspx), refund payment in 14 working days.

Today I got an email from RS saying that they could not cancel the order because it was already sent.

First do not understand why are delayed 12 days to answer that the order was sent, if I have not received any notification of shipment.

The options for reimbursement are:
- Do not accept the order when it arrives.
- Forward the order by filling out a form.

Secondly I have not received any notification of shipping on more than 10 weeks (Payment in May 12) when the shipment was estimated at 7 days. Why should I believe now that the order has already been sent?.

In conclusion, I do not know when get my refund or if will I receive any refund actually.

My initial "registration of interest" with RS was on 8th March. Following publication of costs including shipping and VAT, saw farnell was cheaper, (not by much, but it all counts! ) and registered an interest with them on the 23rd March. Farnell invited me to place an order at the beginning of April. Free T-shirt thrown in! It arrived the last weekend in June, (after minor panic as I was away for last two weeks and might miss delivery.) Finally had an email from Parcel Force this evening at 19:30, "Your Item is being despatched." Order No. just shy of 78k7.
Dissappointed with delay, as RS have usually been good in past experience, both with personal orders and with orders through work account.
Farnell T-shirt starting to hum a bit now. I should probably take it off and wash it! . Currently running RiscOs Alpha Distro. It's still a work in progress, but showing promise! When I receive the second one, I'll let my brother and nieces (12&8) have it to play with. He used to write sofware for the Eurocopter Tiger, and has flown in one, (tethered flight 2ft off the ground!) Hope some of the details are useful.

Signed up for the waiting list many months ago, but never got around to ordering one until last week(had ordered a MK802 & Oval Elephant(has HDMI clamping & axp209)), so I'm waiting. Ordered from Newark(Element14 I guess) because they claimed 5w to ship, while RS/Allied say 12w.

Checked Newark again today, claim 100 on 8/12 now, and then more on 8/22.

Funny thing, when I first saw RS I was like sweet:

Does these figures represent only UK / Europe based sales or worldwide sale ?
And are they from Element 14 or RS ? I am more interested in numbers shown by Element 14.

What delivery time did you expect at time of ordering? In the first post of this thread it seems that expected delivery time for you (20 June) was 10 weeks, but you received your Raspy within 5 weeks. Is it right?

I chose Standard Delivery, and it came in a padded envelope via GLS. However, I did not receive any shipment notification or updates on my order status after the initial ''Order Confirmation" mail. Just in case you start to get into panic mode (like I did) because someone else with a higher order number received a shipment notification and you didn't. Your Pi might already be on its way

I would guess that you can't get a current status with them either. Things may have changed now that they have worked through the backlog.

You'll get a better response from one of the Farnell/Element14 threads rather than this one.

I called Farnell on 08447 11 11 11 out of interest to see what their sales department are advising.

They've currently got 458 units on back order, and sales have no update further to it still being 5 weeks lead time.

it's being said that an order placed on the 16th July has now shipped in only 8 days. But the sales rep could not explain that.

So I'd love to read what someone else gets told, and I've asked a colleague to call them and see what they tell him.

I am not sure - there have been a number of posts recently about orders from Farnell being getting delivery within a week of placing the order. I presonally placed an order with Farnell in early July and got delivery within 3 weeks although at the time I placed the order I was quote 9 weeks lead time.

Ordered on 14th June, order number 750XX, arrived on 25th July (standard delivery --> no notification of shipment)

... must now do some nerd-stuff!
