Raspberry pi zero/zeroW secret usb

Mon Mar 26, 2018 2:36 pm

As you can see by the attachment, on the zero family there is a "secret" or not soldered usb.
What do that usb (if soldered) can do?

I think that is the VC4 JTAG connector.

Provides debugging facilities for the Videocore GPU. So unless you work at RPF(T) and have access to the GPU source, not a lot.

It is probably worth pointing out in the context of this thread that the SoC used on the Pi0/Pi0W only has one USB port--and that is exposed as the microUSB connector. There simply isn't another USB port to be had without adding an external (to the SoC) hub like the ones on the B-series Pis.
