Raspbian on the Pi is armhf arch which is nothing like i386.

There doesn't appear to be an armhf version of LibreOffice 6 available for download. You could build it from source, but that would take a while on a Pi.

Raspbian is a re-spin of Debian ARMHF.

Because Raspbian is an RPi (armhf) variant of Debian, and .deb files are the packaging system used by Debian and thus by Raspbian also.

But .deb package files are not technology-independent and thus are not portable across different machine architectures.

Looking, for example, at the link already provided, you scroll down to Download and look in the Architecture column for armhf.

Some packagers and developers confuse the issue and fail to acknowledge that Linux can run on any architecture other than 'wintel/x86' hardware. If you see a package advertised as being for Linux but offering only 32/64 bit options it has almost certainly not been built with the RPi in mind.

The clue is in the name of the file. It always includes an arch string.

The basic naming convention goes like this:
packagename_versionnumber_amd64.deb is for x86 64 bit architecture (it's called amd64 because AMD released the first decent chips in this arch)
packagename_versionnumber_i386.deb is for x86 32 bit architecture
packagename_versionnumber_armhf.deb is for arm 32 bit architecture with hardware floating point support (Raspbian*)
packagename_versionnumber_all.deb will run on any architecture. This is often things like pure data, shell scripts, python programs etc.

*Non-Raspbian armhf packages can be used on Pi2 and Pi3, but not Pi1 and Pi0 - unless they say they are suitable for those models.

You can now run LibreOffice 6.1 on the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 as if it were running natively thanks to Pi386 emulation layer, an emulation layer that allows you to install 32-bit x86 software inside of an i386 environment and then run this software on the Pi transparently.

I forgive jamesh and others who said that downloading random files from websites such as MediaFire is risky, it is indeed important to be careful about what you download, but Pi386 is safe software and does not give you any viruses. If you think MediaFire is an unsafe cloud hosting platform, please do suggest an alternative cloud hosting service that could be considered more safe than MediaFire.
