Looking for the best OS for Plex and Netflix

Mon Feb 26, 2018 5:51 pm

Hello.

I am new here and I am sorry if someone already answered this but a quick search didn't come with a conclusive result
I have a Raspberry Pi3.
I am searching for a OS to use the Netflix App and the Plex app on the same OS.
I know there is a way to use Netflix on the raspberry but not the plex at the same time. And vice-versa with the "RasPlex"
I thought about using android TV but quite frankly the instalation process its to hard for me.
Is there any other OS that would let me use both apps?
I would like to be watching netflix and then just simply close and open Plex on the same OS

Best regards.

I've done almost nothing with my Pi 3B since I got it but I see having a little more free time soon and want to get a chance to see what I can do with this thing. I have almost 3TB of movies on my desktop computer and use Plex as my media server. It works fine but I may get another Pi to use as a dedicated server and I've looked at OSMC OS and it looks like it'll do quite well for my media needs. It'll be worth a try. My question is how to use a SATA drive with the Pi so it's truly stand alone? The answer is probably obvious but I'm not clear on it. I've got an old box with a clean install of Vista on it that isn't being used and I could move the hard drive to it but then everything has to go through this old technology machine that is likely slower than the Pi. Suggestions?

I just posted up a guide to do just this, but all in Kodi. Its running on a nightly build of OSMC but I have found it really stable. I do leave my pi on all the time as after a reboot everything wants to error once.

Here's a link if your interested in trying it out...
