Re: CP/M (Wordstar, DBaseII, Supercalc)

Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:36 pm

Just for kicks and because it was a rainy day I spent the day building (and fixing) z80pack and YAZE for ARMv6 and then running wordstar, dbaseii and supercalc.

Both z80/cp/m emulators run really well and I can't wait to try them on real hardware. :)

ok now to look for my Zork disk images

Kudos. Hopefully we'll have an emulators repo ready even before launch ^^

Dbase II, that brings back some happy memories....mainly working around the irregular sector numbers on 5 1/4 floppies... maybe that was the PC version..... the screen was defiantly green...how come on the MeeGo boot sequence its white on black and not green on black.....given the feature list doesn’t include bending time and space when over clocking the board, I suspected you where faking your Techno Hippy credentials.....shame on you...god dam corporate suits.

Emulators?

Pah!

I've got a working Osborne 1 in the attic, (with all the master disks) :-)
Then again, a Pi as a miniature Osborne would be a good project!
I'm just a bouncer, splatterers do it with more force.....

I'm interested in using my Raspberry Pi to run a decent z80 emulator, allowing me to resurrect a bunch of old CP/M software. Has anyone here heard of anything like this yet on the 'Pi?

When you built the packages for the Rasp Pi, did you find any significant fixes? It looks like you were originally running on an emulator - any differences with the real hardware?

That's a real collector's item! I remember working on one in pre-PC days. Nice machine, very sturdy. Only the screen is rather small. I'm not sure I could still read it with my aging eyes

Hello,

I have released the new version 2.30.3 of YAZE-AG (Yet Another Z80 Emulator by AG).

It contents a Makefile for the Raspberry Pi to compile YAZE-AG under Raspbian.
(I have not tested if it works on the other distributions for Raspberry Pi)

You find it on http://yaze-ag.de/ its a redirect to
http://www.mathematik.uni-ulm.de/users/ag/yaze-ag/

Best Regards
Andreas Gerlich (developer of YAZE-AG)
