Convert MP4 files to WMV

Fri Mar 09, 2018 7:43 pm

Hello there!
Im trying to convert video files for my Walkman (Model: NWZ-E354)

Since I dont have access to a Windows PC anymore, I need some kind of converter that will convert various MP4 files to WMV. Let me be more specific. The files needs:

WMV video format (obviously)
WMA audio format
404p resolution (Ex: 720x404 for a video that originally was 1280x720)

Here is an example file of one of the videos I successfully imported to my Walkman:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/0tq1xi0b4 ... p+Song.wmv
The file above perfectly works with the device.

The reason why it only works with Windows is because it asks me if <<I want to convert the file before importing.>>

Any tips? And yeah, I also tried alot of online converters. None of them works.
Thanks. :)

'cmon, a bump less than an hour after posting?

ffmpeg is usually the tool for this, but the version shipped with Raspbian can't write proprietary formats. Building your own version can be difficult.

VLC might be able to do this from the desktop.

Okay... I got VLC player up and running.
The video playback for MP4 files are terrible. My CPU is at 100% usage when I fullscreen a 360p video. Not that it causes me a problem, since im using OMXPlayerGUI.

But I didnt saw any kind of option that allow me to convert video files. Any tips? Going tru command line doesnt bother me. :)

Okay, followed a tut, got VLC to convert files. Wierd enough, every file converted is some wierd corrupted and illisible video file. Everything I throw at it crash, shows a black screen. I tried converting it in WMV in the default preset. Nothing seems to work.
