Need help with sensor + GPIO + Java + Pi4J!

Tue Oct 24, 2017 7:12 pm

Hello all,
I have been working on a project in Java for a while now to build my own Smart Mirror and got the display working. When I was done I realized I wanted to add some user input but didn't want to change it to a touch screen, so I bought a Gesture Sensor (http://www.hoverlabs.co/products/hover/). There is some documentation and sample code on their site, but its all in Python and I would prefer to not rewrite my entire project in Python. I have downloaded the entire Pi4J library and I'm just trying to figure out how to receive input from the GPIO pins using I2C. After a lot of research I still haven't gotten anything to work and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this. Any help, or even just a broad overview of how this works, would be greatly appreciated! I'm using the Raspberry Pi 3B and have the sensor connected correctly already. Thanks!
