It should have been included in the previous two NOOBS releases, unless there has been a snafu.

With Chromium V60 :o and fix to Broadpwn exploit (only for built-in WiFi and not for official dongle?)

I thought Broadpwn was fixed on 4.9.43, according to github additions?

On my laptop, Stretch not work with USB WiFi dongle. Then I found this: https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/20 ... 01045.html

It looks like the new naming rule would give USB dongle a name based on MAC, which is very long, and for some reason, too long to work.

Anyway, I would try it tonight.

can you upgrade from jessie to stretch ...
yes though it would probably be quicker to download and start again
however
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y
reboot
then edit
/etc/apt/sources.list
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/raspi.list
and change jessie to stretch
in
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/raspi.list
remove the staging

then
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
ignore errors , answer Y to all questions [there will be a few] - you can make copies of any that you want to keep
reboot
sudo apt-get auto-remove
then
lsb_release -a ; uname -as
should say something like

Code: Select all

No LSB modules are available.

Yes Rattus it was in the BLOG linked to above :D

Upgrading an existing Jessie image is possible, but is not guaranteed to work in every circumstance. If you wish to try upgrading a Jessie image to Stretch, we strongly recommend taking a backup first – we can accept no responsibility for loss of data from a failed update.

As an aside I download and created the SD Card on my new Asus Chromebit using the ChromeOS Recovery Utility which like Etcher unzips and writes :P

That kernel version was, I think, only available via rpi-update. So most people didn't have it. Also consider the split between kernel and distribution.

The fix is for built in, dongle still in progress.

Upgraded to Stretch some time ago and after apt-updating today I see only firmware packages update and so my chromium is at 56.
That's my apt.source

Code: Select all

deb http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ stretch main contrib non-free rpi

With the ALSA changes, has anyone updated a Google AIY setup yet (AIY image and/or installed on Raspbian).?
Before I go ahead and find out for myself ;-)

Nice to see it go generally available. I've been running Stretch for months. Eight out of fourteen are already upgraded.

The next move is to rebuild the SDCard/USB stick/HDD for each raspberry with a fresh download (to get rid of the crud and cruft that's accumulated). That will also get all fourteen running on an identical software base. That'll keep me busy for a few days.

It's a good way to get just the stuff that's running re-installed. The data is all held on my NAS anyway.

Hi,

I installed Raspbian stretch on Raspberry Pi 3 but when I want to install a software, I have the following error :

Code: Select all

Err:1 http://raspbian.42.fr/raspbian stretch/main armhf liberror-perl all 0.17024-1
  Could not connect to raspbian.42.fr:80 (163.172.250.246). - connect (111: Connection refused) [IP: 163.172.250.246 80]
Do you have a solution ?

Maybe that server is very busy right now serving up lots of downloads of Raspbian Stretch?

Perhaps try again later...

nice, thank you for Raspbian Stretch!!!

i just installed Raspbian Stretch from scratch... (2017-08-16-raspbian-stretch.img / 2017-08-16-raspbian-stretch-lite.img)
BUT: now figuring out the main network adapter from script is way more tricky, because is isn't called eth0 anymore.now it is enx+MAC
(e.g. enx112233445566)
is this the new standard from now or is it by accident?
